BURTON, Michigan — Lisa Brant could have kept quiet about the horror her daughter endured.
Raped repeatedly, drugged and poised to be sold on the Internet for $300,000 to a man in Texas.
But Brant, 38, doesn’t want to see another family endure the same hell hers did just three years ago in Florida.
So the Burton mother of six is speaking out. “I just want people to open their damn eyes,” she said.
Two weeks ago, Brant flew out to New York to appear on the “Today” for a segment with host Meredith Vieira about human trafficking.
And, a MSNBC documentary called “Sex Slaves in the Suburbs” premiered earlier this month and featured her daughter (msnbc.msn.com and look under documentaries).
“This is not a story anymore,” said Brant. “This is my life.”
