Victory in Atlanta, GA!

On the afternoon of May 3, 2011, Governor Nathan Deal signed HB 200 into law. This human trafficking bill will toughen sex trafficking penalties for traffickers and seeks to improve outcomes for victims in the state of Georgia. For example, for human traffickers who target minors, who are under the age of 16, the crime is classified as a felony and is punishable by 10-30 years in prison and a fine up to $100,000. This signing is an essential victory within this state, as Atlanta is a known hub for human trafficking.
